For all of those players south of the bridge, the Inner West League is starting up this spring. The league will kick off with 4 weeks of Learn to Play sessions on Wednesday nights starting 16 September. The sessions run from 7-9pm, at Steel Park in Marrickville. If you've never played Ultimate Frisbee before this is the place to start. The Learn to Play sessions are free, so there's no excuse for not giving it a go.
To sign up for the Learn to Play sessions:
- Register yourself first with the national Ultimate Frisbee association, the AFDA. You'll receive a password sent to your email address that you can log in with. There's no cost to joining the AFDA.
- Then sign up for the Learn to Play sessions
After the Learn to Play sessions, the league proper will begin. If you are looking to play, but don't have a team, don't worry. The league is being run as a hat league, where players will be grouped into category by experience level, and the names drawn out of a hat to form teams. So you will get to play with players with a range of abilities. Visit the registration page to sign up. It costs $40 to play, or $60 for two if you bring a beginner friend.
