The Australian Flying Disc Association, of which Ultimate Frisbee NSW is an affiliate, takes out insurance on behalf of its members and affiliates. This covers three areas:
- public liability insurance
- professional indemnity insurance
- a member compensation fund, which is a self run scheme similar to a personal injury insurance scheme, although there are some important differences

Leagues, tournaments and other events are covered by insurance through a fee the AFDA levies per player. For leagues run in NSW an additional fee is collected for NSWFDA to help cover the services NSWFDA provides around the State. The NSWFDA component of the fee is currently set at 20c per night per player. The fee is collected by the AFDA on behalf of NSWFDA.
